The Al-Ahsa Municipality removed 450 billboards during a campaign that was recently launched to eradicate visual impediments on the region’s roads.

A municipality spokesman also said that the municipality and the Department of Environmental Health have given a grace period for violating barbershops to adhere to health and hygiene standards.

“These salons have failed to comply with the department’s standards.

These include workers’ personal hygiene and failure to adhere to business safety standards, especially tools used for shaving,” he said. “Many tools unfit for use have been confiscated and destroyed.”

He urged members of the public to call 940 or visit www.alhasa.gov.sa to report complaints.
