ASIR: Under the auspices of Asir Gov. Prince Faisal bin Khalid, the second edition of charitable entities and social development committees will be launched on Tuesday amid a large number of participants and attendants.
Minister of Labor and Social Development Dr. Mufrej Al-Haqabani is expected to attend the event under the title of “Developing non-profit sector in line with Kingdom’s Vision 2030” that aims to turn beneficiaries of social security assistance into productive individuals.
The forum aims to spread awareness of development projects that enhance the voluntary sector and establish a wide range of agreements that contribute to the sector in the Kingdom.
Director of the ministry’s branch in Asir Abdulhakim Al-Shahrani said: “We are honored that the forum is patronized by Prince Faisal bin Khalid bringing together charitable entities and social development committees in the Kingdom.”
Al-Shahrani added that the ministry will launch three projects including baby care nurseries, centers for girls education and institutes for taking care of girls with an estimated SR90 million funding to establish such premises.”
Meanwhile, the forum consists of several workshops where the minister and other high-ranking leaders will take the initiative as speakers, in addition to conducting an exhibition for charitable entities and related committees so as to display their services.
The participants will witness the signing ceremony of multiple agreements that support efforts in terms of social development and achieves partnership among stakeholders as the office of social welfare for women and other charitable foundation in Abha would take part in the event through showcasing crafts and products done by family productive.
Al-Shahrani stressed that the forum is in sync with the objectives set by the national transformation program 2020 that stems from the Kingdom’s vision 2030 as they strive to support and encourage the youth through a wide range of training and employment programs, ensuring their productivity and contribution to the country instead of relying on government assistance.
The director extended his thanks to the Asir governor for his unswerving efforts in serving development matters amid the Abha festival that is occurring and attracting many visitors coming from all parts of the Kingdom.
Al-Shahrani also thanked the minister of labor and social development for his participation in the forum as well as commended other workers who are involved in charity work.
It is expected to hold the first session that addresses challenges faced by the development work and lay out solutions to overcome such obstacles, whereas the second session would discuss participation and empowerment opportunities.
The third session will focus on development opportunities that are adopted into the ministry’s systems while officials are expected to shed light on the role of media in educating members of the society about the development work.
