Charity organizations in Saudi Arabia celebrated the Arab Orphan Day in Jeddah pledging more care and support for orphaned children.

Several voluntary organizations like Bir Charity Society, Faisaliah Charity Society, Dar Al-Tarbiya and Dar Al-Zahur besides a number of women volunteers took part in the event which witnessed a variety of programs. There were also pupils from schools and universities at the event.

Ghada bint Mansour Abdul Gaffar, director of the Women’s Welfare Society in the Makkah region, urged that caring people impart good family values to orphaned children. It’s a noble gesture, she said and added that we as children of “Baba Abdullah” are proud to care for orphans as part of our responsibility.

She said the Kingdom’s “beloved rulers are paying greater attention to orphanages in adherence to Islamic values.”

Caring for orphans is precious to all and that since inception Saudi Arabia has paid special attention to orphans and provided the best care for them, according to her.

“Orphanages were established from the Kingdom’s belief that this section of the society has rights granted by God.

She prayed to God to reward the rulers and to bless all those who pay money and work hard to serve orphans. She beseeched God to “bless all of us” and to “give us the promised reward for sponsoring orphans as we were told by our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
