An Arab national was sentenced to death for murdering an 8-year-old boy, attempted murder of a young girl and assaulting a primary school student in Khamees Mushait, according to sources at the General Court in the city.

The killing took place a month ago. The man re-enacted the crime for law-enforcement agencies.

The convicted killer, in his 30s, is a legal resident. He kidnapped the son of his friend, with whom he had a dispute. He started blackmailing the father, who is a beggar, threatening to kill the boy if he was not paid. He then slashed the throat of the boy, according to the court verdict.

The defendant then took the body in his car to a location under a bridge in Wadi Bisha where he dumped it during heavy rains.

The victim’s father reported to the police the kidnapping and was taken to where the boy’s body was found.

The father told the police the identity of the kidnapper. The killer was arrested and showed police where to find the murder weapon.

The killer was also responsible for stabbing a Pakistani girl whom he dumped in a public park and fled. The girl was found alive and taken to hospital where she received 150 stitches. That incident happened one year ago.
