The Indian comedy show, ‘Hungama in KSA’ in the Hyderabadi dialect evoked side-splitting laughter from the audience on Friday in Jeddah.

The show, part of India’s ongoing 65th Republic Day celebrations under the banner of Tanzeem Hum Hindustani, kept the audience spellbound throughout.

Dollywood (Hyderabad cinema) actor and filmmaker, Adnan Sajjid Khan, popularly known as Gullu Dada; Aziz Naser, famous as Jahangir; and Khairuddin Baig, popularly called Jaani, came on invitation from India to perform exclusively for the Indian community families in Jeddah.

They sang a number of hit songs and performed live stand-up comedy with an overflow of rib-tickling one-liners, amusing gags, jokes and downright hilarious stories that pulsated to the cheery sounds of laughter and chuckles.

The program also had local singers — Syed Abdul Rafay, Rehana Salim, Imtiyaz Hussain, Ghous Mohiuddin, Faisal and Amjad Baig, who all rendered some melodious hits. The opening performance was given by Khairduddin Baig Jaani, known for his standup comedy and ventriloquism in India.

“My idea was to have fun by telling jokes in typical Hyderabadi style. I am a very funny guy and I love to entertain people with humor,” he said.

During the event, Adnan Sajjid Khan sang and performed new skits for the audience. He said, “The idea was to make people laugh and make them part of our act. This is the second time for me to perform in Jeddah and the audience has always been supportive and encouraging.”

His cameo in the Hyderabadi language drew large applause and accolades from the audience.

Aziz Naser, who visited Saudi Arabia for the first time, charmed the audience with his spontaneous sense of humor and thrilling performances. “I love to entertain people and convey humor through classic Hyderabadi language. The purpose was to relate to them and convey the flavors of the nawabi (princes) city.”

He thanked the organizers for giving him an opportunity to entertain the people who have been living far from their country and missing their culture. He produced some sound effects of an English film trailer on demand.

Aziz said that his future plan was to present a comedy in his upcoming film “Parday Kay Peechay,” which will be released in May.

All three humorists said that they had the best spiritual time staying in Makkah and Madinah, and were lucky to meet friendly people during their stay.

Mohammed Amir from the audience said, “I thought the whole cast fully deserved a standing applause for their splendid performance.
