Courts in the Kingdom dealt with 61,711 different cases during the last five months, local media said quoting a report released by the Ministry of Justice.

The number of criminal cases stood at 30,348 while cases dealing with rights reached 31, 336 since the beginning of this year according to a recent report.

The criminal court in Riyadh dealt with 9,500 criminal cases and 9,099 cases of rights capturing the highest number of cases Kingdom-wide while Jeddah came second with 5,343 criminal cases and 4,195 cases of rights, according to the report.

The court in Madinah was the third highest receiver with 1,817 criminal cases and 3,463 cases of rights cases.

The statistics for criminal and rights cases received by penal courts in other regions and cities varied as follows: Makkah (5,315), Tabuk (2,465), Hail (2,657), Taif (3,136), Ahsa (2,711), Buraidah (1,856), Dammam (3,286), Najran (1,465), and Abha (1,058), the report said.
