The Ministry of Health has imposed a SR10,000 fine on a Saudi doctor who works at a clinic in a private company for publishing a photograph of a patient in a local newspaper without his consent.

Health Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah approved the decision taken by the Medical Violations Committee in the Eastern Province, saying the doctor violated Article 11 of a health professions code.

The ministry will punish violators as soon as these decisions are finalized. It will take regulatory procedures, including the precautionary closure of any health establishment that is in violation of quality standards.

These measures aim to ensure these facilities’ commitment to regulatory procedures.

The ministry said that the private sector is a strategic and active partner in health development and reiterated the importance of abiding by quality standards to offer safe and effective medical services to patients.
