The Ebsar Foundation for the Visually Impaired celebrates its 10th anniversary here on Nov. 5.

Mohammed Towfik Bellow, secretary general and co-founder of the foundation, thanked Prince Talal bin Abdul Aziz, honorary president of the organization, for overseeing its work over the years.

Prince Talal launched the organization a decade ago to help people with visual disabilities. The celebration this year is entitled: “Ten years of pioneering and giving.”

Bellow said the organization wants to attract local and international funding for its work, particularly its new Ebsar Village project.

He said various members of the royal family, businesspeople and public figures would attend the event. The foundation falls under the Ministry of Social Affairs. It is a member of the National Committee for the Prevention of Blindness, which is working to achieve the goals of the initiative “Vision 20/20: The Right to Sight.”
