The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and ABS-CBN’s “The Filipino Channel” signed an agreement to support and promote the welfare of overseas Filipino workers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Carmelita Dimzon, OWWA administrator, said, “The partnership between the two groups will give us a chance to promote our welfare programs.”

OWWA is a government agency that aims to promotes the overall well being of overseas Filipino workers and their dependents.

Dimzon said the agreement would also boost the government’s reintegration program, given TFC’s wide reach.

The program assists overaseas Filipinos return to mainstream Philippine society through different welfare schemes.

TFC is a premier Filipino network catering to the Filipino community all over the world.

Ailene Averion, managing director of ABS-CBN Global, said TFC had been looking forward to a tie-up with OWWA over the years.

“We share OWWA’s vision of looking after the well-being of our compatriots. TFC understands the challenges of overseas Filipino workers and it has always been our mission to propagate the improvement of their lives abroad,” she said.

The two groups also announced the launch of a video talk show on how overseas Filipinos can benefit from the program.
