An electronic fingerprint marking system to record attendance of teachers in schools and officials in the Education Ministry will be implemented in early 2016, a source said.

The first phase of the new attendance marking project will be implemented in less than a month at the ministry’s headquarters, the education administration offices and all departments under it.

The second phase covering education offices for boys and girls schools will be implemented in three months following the completion of the first phase. The second phase will last for six months after which the third phase will be completed. All boys and girls schools will come under the project during this last phase, a local daily reported.
