In commemoration of the excellent friendship between the two brotherly countries of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, the World Muslim Congress (WMC) and the Pakistan Consulate in Jeddah will jointly organize the Saudi-Pakistan Friendship Program in the Ismail Abu Dawood Hall at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce on April 10, 2014. The event will commence at 7:30 p.m.

Speaking about the upcoming event, Dr. Abdullah Omar Nasseef, president of WMC, stated that the relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan were strongly rooted in history, based on a common religion, culture and strategic interests. “Therefore, it is important for the people of both countries to get to know each other better to bolster ties of goodwill and friendship,” he added.

Highlighting the importance of the program, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Aftab Ahmad Khokher in his message on the occasion stated,

“Such programs will bring the two nations closer. They will enhance awareness of the historic bond that the countries share,” he said.

The program is the brainchild of Dr. Tanweer Zaman, director of WMC. “The program is the first of its kind and is a continuation of the Pakistan National Day celebrations,” he said.

The program is based on the contributions of children from various schools of both countries who participated in model and poster competitions. These schools will also participate in the cultural program. “We pray that the generations to come will flourish in friendship and prosperity,” added Zaman.
