Police busted a gang of burglars consisting of 8 Arab nationals who specialized in looting shops in the city. Following reports of several incidences of burglary in the last two months, the police department has formed a committee to investigate the robberies in the city under the supervision of the Jeddah Police chief Maj. Gen. Abdullah Al-Qaitani, according to Col. Aati Al-Qurashi, spokesperson of Jeddah Police.

He confirmed that, “The accused were between 24 to 35 years of age and were in violation of the residency and work regulations.” He also said in a statement that they all had a criminal history and that they had been referred to the Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution for further procedures.

In related news, Aati Al-Qureshi informed of another case involving immoral activities in Taif city. He said that acting on a tip off, police raided a house in Taif which was frequented by several men. “They nabbed 11 women and two men of African nationality for indulging in illicit relationships.”
