MADINAH: The Madinah municipality has approved the renewal of the licenses of gas stations along regional roads and highways for one extra year, after the end of the grace period issued to stations last Ramadan to correct their conditions in preparation for their operation from companies qualified to deliver services.

Spokesman for Madinah municipality Salama Al-Luhaibi said six new gas stations are being established and operated along highways in the region in accordance with model specifications that meet the technical and service standards of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs.

He said two new stations meet the new regulations and are being operated by qualified companies determined by the ministry, while licenses for two new stations were issued. The municipality is working on issuing approval to a company for another two stations.



Technical and financial standards include requiring compliance with the national identity and service ladder, as well as ensuring a maintenance, operation, administrative, and engineering plan for operation.
