The government has honored several people here for social welfare projects including officials running a rehabilitation program for convicted terrorists.

Second Deputy Premier Prince Muqrin, on behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, handed out the prizes to the winners on Wednesday.

The Prize for Distinguished Social Service was organized by the Foundation of Princess Seitah bint Abdul Aziz in Riyadh. The recipients included officials from the Prince Mohammed bin Naif Counseling and Care Center, which provides rehabilitation services for convicted terrorists.

The officials included Khaled Al-Matrafi, Ahmed Madkhali, Awad Al-Anazi, Abdul Salam Al-Sehaimi, Ali Al-Afnan and Adel Al-Foraidan. Others honored were preacher Khaled Al-Shaie and citizens from Buraidah Khaled Al-Towaiyan, Ibrahim Akl-Moshaigeh, Muhammad Al-Saeedi, Badr Al-Saawi, Abdul Mohsen Al-Rashoudi, Abdullah Al-Sowailem, and Abdullah Al-Ayaf.
