The Makkah branch of the Human Rights Commission announced on Saturday that there are plans to launch a program to take care of problems teenagers face during this crucial period in their development which bridges the gap between childhood and adulthood.
Teenagers tend to experience bouts of rebellion against restrictions laid down by parents or society as they try to cope with their physical, physiological, emotional and mental changes.
Dr. Jawhara bint Abdulaziz Al-Nihari, director of the women’s department of Human Rights in Makkah, said that they plan to launch the program with the aim to spread awareness and to highlight the problems of adolescents, prepare educational programs for families, understand how to deal with adolescence, discuss the role of the media, and encourage adolescents to integrate into business and volunteer work programs in the light of the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
