Eighteen Indian restaurants, snacks and sweet makers based in Jeddah will offer north Indian, south Indian, Hyderabadi and Mughlai cuisines at the Indian Food Festival 2014 to be organized from April 3-5 by the Consulate General of India in association with Saudi-Indian Business Network (SIBN) at the consulate premises. The event will be inaugurated at 8:45 p.m. on April 3.

Indian food is very popular in Saudi Arabia and neighboring Gulf countries. Its rich variety, taste and flavor with each region of India having its own style of cooking and unique cuisine make it distinct and special. The festival will celebrate the diversity and richness of Indian food.

Visitors to the event will be able to enjoy delicious biryani, haleem, kebabs, naan, chhola bhatura, several chicken and mutton dishes and curries, idli, sambar, dosa, spicy chaats, snacks, sweets and ice creams.

“Indian food is rich in variety, taste and flavor with each region having its own style of cooking and unique cuisine,” said a diplomat. “Renowned for exotic gravies and spicy kebabs, Indian cuisine has something to satisfy every palate. “Indian nationals, especially children will find the event interesting.”

Entry on April 3, 2014, is restricted to the guests/by invitation only. The event will be open to public (families only) on April 4 and 5 from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. More information can be had on 012-6639854.
