The Indian Embassy in Riyadh has switched to a new online booking system for visa appointments for the convenience of visa seekers and to update the visa services provided by the embassy in line with other embassies worldwide.

Surinder Bhagat, spokesperson of the embassy, said on Thursday, “The online visa booking system was under consideration for quite some time owing to the large numbers of visa seekers. From now onwards, visas will only be processed online via the embassy’s website.”

“Paper applications will henceforth be discontinued,” he added.

As the majority of the consular sections worldwide have introduced a digital booking system, it was introduced here as well to update the services provided by the embassy, he informed. To fill out online visa applications one can click on URL https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/indianVisaReg.jsp, print out the completed form along with the fees and required documents and submit them to the embassy through the authorized outsourcing agency M/s VFS LLC GCC, he added.

Earlier, the consular section of the embassy had a walk-in service but the Indian Embassy started accepting online visa bookings along side the paper application in mid-December last year in preparation for a fully online system.
