A section of the Indian community felicitated Sirajuddin Qureshi on his re-election as the president of New Delhi-based India Islamic Cultural Center (IICC).

Nadeem Tarin, philanthropist and chairman of Delhi Public School-Riyadh, organized the event to welcome Qureshi on his first visit after his re-election in January in a keenly-contested IICC elections.

Tarin said the main purpose of IICC is to promote mutual understanding and amity among the people of India and to depict the true face of Islam which is tolerant, liberal, progressive, rational and forward-looking.

Speaking at the event, Qureshi highlighted the need for working in close harmony with other members of society and to become part of the mainstream in India.
