Now that almost half the grace period for the correction of foreigners’ legal status has expired, the Indian Embassy in Riyadh will brainstorm on Sept. 13 about how to effectively proceed during the remaining period.

Embassy spokesman Surinder Bhagat said the mission is very keen on fully utilizing the extended grace period for overstaying expatriates to correct their status or to leave the Kingdom without facing penal action. He said that the Indian volunteers registered with the embassy are invited to attend the meeting and provide their suggestions to assist the Indian community spread all over the Kingdom.

The embassy has urged Indian nationals with knowledge in Shariah law, Saudi Labor laws and Arabic language to register with the embassy and offer their services to assist those in deportation centers (tarheels), labor offices and jails.

The embassy has also warned the Indian community against illegal agents who are trying to mislead and exploit Indians by offering them to get them exit from deportation centers.
