A Palestinian woman and her daughter died and three others from the family took seriously ill when they were exposed to insecticide that leaked into their apartment from a lower floor. All three affected persons were shifted to the intensive care unit of King Fahad Hospital in Jeddah.

Police collected evidence from the site and secured the area.

Jeddah Health director Abdullah Al-Sahafi said the family, which resided on the fourth floor of a 20-apartment building, was exposed to insecticide that leaked from one of the apartments on the third floor. The residents of the third floor apartment had sprayed insecticide and left. The police evacuated all the residents from the building.
