The Embassy of Japan participated in "International Peace Day" event at Riyadh schools on Tuesday and held its own booth. This school which was founded in 1969 has Prince Salman bin Abdul-Aziz as its honorary president.

Ando, head of Culture and Education Section of the embassy, demonstrated Japanese calligraphy and exhibited Japanese traditional and modern culture, such as traditional clothes (Happi) and famous comics (Anime and Manga).

Many students attended the event and enjoyed the diverse cultures exhibited by various booths, including the booth of Japanese Embassy.

As the young generation in the Saudi society is increasing, there is a growing interest in education and culture for students.

The embassy said it would like to encourage and support the collaboration between Japan and Saudi Arabia in the fields of education and culture for students.

The Embassy of Japan will hold various cultural and educational activities and events toward the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relation between Japan and Saudi Arabia next year.
