A two-day job fair began in the campus of the Jazan University on Wednesday attracting over 25 local and international companies.

This is the first of its kind job fair in Jazan region where officials from the Ministry of Labor, Jazan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Jazan University participated besides industrial and business houses, said Dr. Ibrahim Abu Hadi of Jazan University.

He said that an exclusive session for women job aspirants was also held in which several women candidates participated. A special discussion has been planned for Thursday under the theme “Opportunities for Saudi women in Business Sector” which will be addressed by Dr. Amal Al Taha Al Abadi and career expert Dr. Aisha Zakari.

Dr. Sharif Abdul Wahab from the Organization for Technical Education and Vocation Training explained about the emerging labor market in the economic city in the province. Besides, the state of the economy and opportunities in Jazan area was presented by Chamber of Commerce and Industry secretary general Ahmed Gunfuzi, Abu Hadi said. Ahmed Al Asiri, deputy director of Ministry of Labour in Jazan province spoke on the topic “Key to Success in Career.” Many business and industrial organizations in the Kingdom have taken it as priority to recruit qualified Saudi youth nowadays and are making them job offers.

The National Commercial Bank has signed an agreement with Jazan University for training and the mining giant Crystal also inked similar training agreement with the university, Abu Hadi said.

A day earlier, Prince Mohammed bin Nasser, Governor of Jazan region, patronized the graduation ceremony of about 8,000 students of Jazan University in the presence of Rector Prof. Mohammed Al Hiaza.

Addressing the ceremony, the governor hailed the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah that led to establishment of university in the region, a statement from the university said.

Commending the university, Prince Mohammed said within a short span it has progressed in all the fields of education and learning and producing well qualified youth.

He also hailed the initiative of career guidance and job fair that enable students to choose the right path for them.
