The King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) will hold its science and technology exhibition in Alkhobar in the Eastern Province from April 27.

The seven-day show will be held under the patronage of Eastern Province Gov. Prince Muhammed bin Naif.

Last week, Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Suwaiyel, KACST’s president, opened the city’s eighth Science and Technology Week in Riyadh. More than 10,000 students from Riyadh visited the show.

In Alkhobar, more than 30 pavilions will exhibit various KACST services and products. The annual event is aimed at promoting science in the Kingdom.

Al-Suwaiyel said the aim of the event was to show how science influences all aspects of people’s lives. It is expected to draw large numbers of visitors from all parts of the Eastern Province, he said.

He said the morning session of the exhibition would be held from 8 a.m. to 12 noon for school students, and in the evenings from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Al-Suwaiyel said the show was open to everyone particularly the youth, school pupils of all grades, and students of colleges and universities, who constitute 60 percent of the country’s population.

He said the KACST was committed to developing the youth to become future leaders of the country, and helping to create a knowledge-based society.
