Two Ethiopians have confessed to murdering a Pakistani taxi driver on King Khalid Road in Riyadh.

Brig. Nasser Al-Qahtani, Riyadh police spokesman, said the body of a 26-year-old taxi driver was found inside a car at an empty parking lot on Feb. 9. The man had five stab wounds and was tied up with a rope, an online daily reported Sunday.

Al-Qahtani said that police detectives arrested the two Ethiopians, who later confessed to ordering the cab driver to stop the car at knifepoint on reaching a deserted area on King Khalid Road, tying the driver up, stabbing him several times and stealing his money.

They had hailed the taxi at the Umm Hammam district and had asked the driver to take them to Diraiya.

The case has been referred to the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution.
