Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman thanked Custodian of the Two Mosques King Abdullah for issuing the order to grant developed plots to citizens with loans to build their own houses.

The King's recent order also puts the responsibility of developing housing plots on the Ministry of Housing.

In a statement issued on the occasion, Prince Faisal said the order will go a long way in ending the housing issue and increase the number of citizens owning houses.

“Such wise orders are not unexpected from the King because they are issued with the aim of greater welfare and more comfortable life for citizens,” the prince said.

The King ordered the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs to hand over all developed pieces of land and plots ready for construction to the Ministry of Housing which will, in turn, distribute them to citizens with loans.

In the past, Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs was blamed for slowness in handing over land for housing projects. Now the King has given the Ministry of Housing all the government land and money it needs.
