Saudi Arabia has approved a number of urgent projects valued at more than SR4 million to help the displaced Syrians currently living in Lebanon.

The ‘Saudi National Campaign to support the brothers in Syria’ will execute these projects in collaboration with Ibdaa charitable association in Lebanon, campaign sources said on Sunday.

According to the sources, the projects of urgent importance include the establishment of a vocational project, equipment for a medical center run by the campaign to help Syrian brothers and provide free medical examination and treatment to them. It also includes the provision of bread to 2,000 families for six months and payment toward the costs of 1,000 birth cases of Syrian females living in Lebanon.

Earlier, a consignment of 150 tons of dates was sent for distribution among the distressed Syrians living in Lebanon ahead of the holy ‎month of Ramadan.

The Saudi Embassy in Beirut recently announced: “The charitable activities are being implemented in line with the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah to meet the ‎needs of the displaced Syrian people, particularly children, women and the elderly.”

The Kingdom has also recently approved to provide dry meals to help Syrians living in Jordan during the holy month of Ramadan through an agreement which the Saudi National Campaign signed with the Al Tajmouat University Facilities Services Company in Amman. This program will be executed in three stages to serve the displaced brothers and sisters due to ongoing civil war in Syria.
