The Civil Defense has retrieved the body of Lama Al-Rouqi — 48 days after the six-year-old fell in a well — and sent it for forensic tests.

The girl went missing during a family picnic on Dec. 20 and was declared dead a week after falling in the abandoned well. Rescue efforts were only able to take out parts of the body earlier citing difficult conditions.

Maaden and Saudi Aramco implemented a Civil Defense plan, which included digging up a well parallel to the one where Lama fell, and opening up a tunnel between the two wells. It was dug meters under the body and was monitored by video cameras.
