A team of workers involved in taking out the body of Lama Al-Rouqi, the six-year-old girl who fell to her death in a Tabuk bore well, has sighted her body at a depth of 38 meters using a thermal camera.

The workers, who are from the Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden), did not say how many more days would take to retrieve the body of Lama, who fell into the well about 40 days ago.

“This is the first time somebody has announced sighting Lama’s body inside the well,” a source told a local daily. Maaden officials said measures have been taken to prevent the body falling deeper into the well.

The Civil Defense Department has not confirmed or denied the Maaden report, which indicates that the girl’s body would be taken out in the near future. Forensic test reports had previously confirmed that the body parts retrieved from the well belonged to Lama.

The Civil Defense has dug a hole parallel to the well to reach the level at which Lama was trapped, which was three meters away from the well. Maaden workers have constructed a tunnel between the two wells.
