The UK diplomatic missions in the Kingdom have switched to a new online booking system for consular appointments.

“Now all appointments for consular services in Saudi Arabia must be booked online via our website,” a British embassy official said on Monday.

Earlier, the consular section operated a “walk in” system for customers who required notarial or documentary services.

“In line with the majority of the consular section worldwide, we have introduced a digital booking system which should now be used by all clients needing such services,” the British embassy in Riyadh said.

The consular appointments are available from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon from Sunday to Thursday, it said.

To avail of the service online, one can click on the consular appointment booking system link at https://www.gov.uk/government/world/saudi-arabia and select the service required, the official said.

To register as a new user, one can enter details on the “new customer registration form” and need to register once, he said adding for future appointments, use the “Customer Sign-in” and enter your e-mail address and password you used when registering for the first time.

According to the official, once the appointment has been booked, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address.

There are over 20,000 British nationals living and working in the Kingdom and about 100,000 nationals travel each year.
