Pilgrims have begun arriving to Saudi Arabia from different countries from across the world to perform Umrah in Makkah and visit the Prophet’s Mosque.

Arab News met with an Egyptian pilgrim, Mohamed Allam, who said he came to the Kingdom to perform Umrah. After spending several days in the holy city of Makkah, Allam traveled to Madinah to visit the Prophet’s mosque for the remainder of his two-week trip to the holy lands. For him, visiting Madinah represented a life dream opportunity to pray and visit the Prophet (peace be upon him) and get to know the city of Madinah and its features in a better way.

Allam described Madinah as being full of historical sites, many of which he visited, such as the two Minarets’ Mosque, the seven mosques and Quba Mosque among others. This was not Allam’s first visit to the Kingdom. however, he indicated that every time he arrives to the Kingdom and to the holy lands her feels the spirituality of the place. He also hi lighted the constant development the Grand Mosque is undergoing as well as the many development projects taking place in the country, especially in Madinah. Allam praised Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and his government for the excellent care and services given to the holy sites including the expansion project of the two holy mosques as also other mosques.

Allam said he paid about SR8,000 including accommodation, tickets, and transportation, and said he “thankfully did not face any problems during his trip.”
