Makkah ranked first in the number of custody cases in 2013.

The province recorded a staggering 2,336 cases, followed by Riyadh (1,658 cases), and the Eastern Province (749 cases). There were in excess of 6,413 cases Kingdom-wide that year.

There are 386 registered cases in Riyadh so far this year, while Makkah recorded 585 cases and the Eastern Province 190 cases.

Makkah has had the majority of custody cases for the past three years, according to statistics published by the Ministry of Justice. It had 1,734 cases in 2011, 1,956 cases in 2012 and 2,336 cases in 2013. Riyadh came second, with 1,402 cases in 2011, 1,498 cases in 2012 and 1,658 cases in 2013.

The Eastern Province came third, with 581 cases in 2011, 650 cases in 2012 and 749 cases in 2013.
