JAZAN: A mother of an 8-year-old boy got the shock of her life when she found out that her son who had boarded a flight along with her was no longer on the plane after a few minutes into the flight.
It turned out that Fares was forced by reservation agents at the Jazan airport to deplane a flight headed for Jeddah and she did not learn about the situation until a few minutes after departure.
She was informed by the cabin crew that the child would be moved to a back seat with one of her relatives.
However, after takeoff she was surprised to discover he was nowhere to be found. She said she would not have accepted to continue the trip had she known what had happened.
She explained that her relative was upgraded to first class after the airline employees made the mistake.
“They booked an economy seat for my child on the next flight directly,” she said. She said she was shocked by the unprofessional behavior of Saudia staff who failed to keep her informed about her son’s situation while he waited in the hall.
The case is being investigated following the mother’s complaint. She claimed that booking officials at the Jazan airport forced her child to disembark even though he had a boarding pass.
Eyewitnesses took to social media, claiming that the mother had argued with airport agents to let her son remain with her, but he was forced to deplane and the plane took off without him.
