RIYADH: Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Charity Foundation (MiSK Foundation) will on Monday launch a six-day function at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center (RICEC) containing 267 workshops and panel discussions for youths on writing, drawing, animation and visual production.
The functions aim to attract 100,000 visitors and allow them to witness a variety of platforms designed to inspire youths and motivate them to create cultural, literary and scientific content, and how to express and write their thoughts.
The functions will contain interactive workshops on preparing and writing scripts, media content and animation to be presented by a group of locally and globally accredited agencies and organizations in a thoughtful and creative form combining education, culture and entertainment at once.
Meanwhile, visitors will be able to see creative works in the areas of theater, short films, painting, writing, and storytelling. The sacrifices of those stationed in the southern border area will also be highlighted through stories told by those who lived that experience.
Yusuf Al-Hamadi, the head of the media committee of the MiSK Foundation, said some 267 workshops and panel discussions would be allocated for youths in areas related to writing, drawing (painting), animation and visual production, where 120 men and women will undertake training. They will help visitors who desire to join any workshop or training session, he said.
He said activities intended for children will include organization of 120 training sessions on writing picture-based stories for children between the ages of 7 and 14 years. Twenty people will train them, he said.
This diversified cultural event emanates from the vision of the MiSK Foundation in inspiring, stimulating and empowering the youth, he said.
He said the functions provide a fertile ground to discover the talents of Saudi youths in addition to linking technology with meaningful interactive stories as well as the revival of the spoken heritage and its digital reproduction to become accessible to the generations of the community.
The MiSK Foundation puts the making of entertainment content with meaningful values for the youth, defining local and global spoken heritage, and allowing youths to acquire skills and experiences through communication with experienced and competent people, he said.
The MiSK event contains eight major functions including a market where youths can market and sell their products to the public. Some spaces were given to youths free of charge so that they can sell their products.
The market also allows the youths to develop their books, technology and crafts that are made by creative youths in the area of writing, drawing, animation or visual production.
The MiSK workshop will bring together visual production companies, professional trainers, and producers/directors who provide workshops and presentations to the youths on ideas related to production, direction and photography.
MiSK will also give room for producers of films and YouTube programs to exchange their experiences with leading agencies joining the functions. The function will bring together creators and professionals in animation and cartoon characters, in addition to specialized workshops on animation and the art of dubbing.
