The Ministry of Health (MoH) has recently announced it will be hosting an e-health conference in collaboration with the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSSS), Middle East on April 13-14 in Jeddah, to highlight the latest international developments in health information.

Announcing the MoH’s plan to host the conference, Muhammad bin Hamza Al-Khoshaim, vice minister of health for planning and development, said, “The decision to organize the conference emanates from the HIMSS’s staunch belief in the Kingdom’s pioneering role in all fields as well as its adoption of many ideas and issues serving the interest and development of people on the regional and international levels.”

“The conference will provide a clear vision on the MoH’s e-health strategies and will shed light on ways to maintain its pioneering role in the provision of best-quality health care services, both at the present and in the future, by means of automating health service,” he added.

Within the same vein, Al-Khoshaim pointed out that the conference aims to highlight the latest developments in the field of health information technology worldwide and will seek to shed light on the pivotal role of e-health services.

The conference will also draw attention to the distinctive progress achieved by the Ministry of Health and the strategies it has adopted in the field of e-health, with a view to improving the quality and efficiency of health systems for Saudi citizens and residents.
