The Festival of Moroccan Nights, which kicked off at the Park Hyatt in Jeddah on Friday, saw a high turnout of both foreign and Saudi residents.

The festival showcases traditional Moroccan foods and furniture and was organized in coordination with a company specialized in Moroccan decor. The festival, which took off at the Andalusia Restaurant, also witnessed several Arab diplomatic representatives.

Ismail Elabiad, a Moroccan chef, gave visitors a taste of various dishes from Moroccan cuisine, including “tagine” and “harira.”

The restaurant’s decor was also inspired by Andalusian architecture. The “Fez Gate” gave a feel for Moroccan art, replicating the use of small mosaic cubes that are used to decorate the floors and walls of traditional Moroccan houses with various designs.

Bayan Zainy, marketing and communication executive at the Park Hyatt in Jeddah, told Arab News, “It is our second time organizing this festival, which attracted many Saudi and expat visitors. This kind of festival can play a big role in reviving tourism in Jeddah. The Festival of Moroccan Nights offers an extensive buffet crafted by Ismail Elabiad featuring a selection of authentic dishes. The subtle touches of Moroccan interior allowed participants to experience and savor Moroccan traditions.”
