Indian diplomat B.S. Mubarak, who worked as Haj Consul in Jeddah for four years till he was shifted as the head of the Indian mission in Ramallah, Palestine, about two years ago, will be returning soon as Consul General, according to a reliable source, who did not want to be identified.

Mubarak is expected to arrive around the first week of May.

The outgoing Consul General Faiz Ahmad Kidwai, will leave by the end of April to join the Madhya Pradesh Cadre, from where he was deputed on his first foreign assignment.

Kidwai is from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), which he joined at the age of 23.

He said that his various assignments, especially in the President’s Secretariat, had helped him because it gave him a very wide canvas and the outreach was throughout the country.

“I enjoyed exposure in terms of various state governments, and various authorities, both at the center and the state,” he said, adding that with his new post as consul general, it will be of great benefit in connecting with higher authorities in India for helping Indian nationals in the Kingdom, and basically getting whatever work which is related to government of India done at a quick pace to help Indian nationals.
