The Muslim World League (MWL) and the Madinah-based Islamic University have agreed to work on joint activities aimed at serving Islam and exchanging publications.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on Thursday by MWL Secretary-General Abdulmuhsin Al-Turki and Abdulrahman Al-Sanad, rector at the Islamic University, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The two parties also agreed to address extremist phenomena counteracting moderate Islam, translate studies on current developments in Islamic communities, publish books and theses serving Islam and Muslims and exchange in-house periodicals and reports.

According to the MoU, the two institutions have agreed to organize symposia, lectures, panel discussions and training courses destined for MWL employees, offices and centers, the SPA report said.
