JEDDAH: The track record of Amnesty International is full of fabrications which turned it over the years into an organization that lacks credibility and reliability, with probable hidden agendas behind its allegations.

Many countries have, over the years, suffered from its allegations and claims on human rights violations, after the organization could not provide clear and proven evidence behind its claims.

Such claims and allegations were included in a report against Egypt citing a rise in the number of forced disappearance of persons in 2015, accusing security authorities of kidnapping the people, torturing them and then making them disappear in what the report described as “intimidating the opposition and rooting out peaceful opposition.”

But members of Egypt’s National Assembly for Human Rights as well as civil society organizations, along with the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stood united against the report asserting that Amnesty’s information and data were incorrect and malicious.

At the time the ministry’s spokesperson, Ahmed Abu Zeid, expressed absolute rejection of such a politicized and non-objective report prompted and pushed by political agendas to defame the reputation of Egypt.

Another of the reports of this organization, full of such fabrications, is one accusing the German government and half the European Union countries of providing the Egyptian government with arms and weapons used in the torture and killing of opposition members, an issue totally denied by an official at the German Ministry of Economy, asserting these are false reports.

Another faulty report involved Nigeria, when the Nigerian military denied the allegations of the organization accusing the Nigerian authorities of ignoring the warnings before the kidnapping of 300 girls from a school by elements believed to be from Boko Haram.

Other allegations were also denied by Khartoum, Moscow and Beijing on providing Sudan with weapons and arms.

Salman Al-Ansari, the founder and chairman of the Saudi-American Public Relations Affairs Committee, said Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch proved more than once to the international community that the two were influenced by other unknown parties.

“The two organizations have their centers of operations for the Middle East in Beirut, Lebanon, which clearly indicates the politicization of Middle East causes to serve the militias of Hezbollah, which are supported by the Iranian government,” he explained.
