More than 5,520 people with master’s and doctoral degrees have sought employment in the private sector through “Taqat,” a new electronic portal launched by the Ministry of Labor.

Makkah ranked first in the number of postgraduates looking for work through the new portal, recording more than 1,800 resume uploads in the city.

Riyadh came second, with 1,788 resumes, followed by the Eastern Province, with 794 resumes.

Najran recorded the least number of resumes uploaded onto the site, just 40 CVs.

In addition, the portal uncovered the existence of 109,041 illiterate individuals looking for work. Their data was uploaded onto the portal after launching the new and developed version of the Hafiz unemployment benefits program.
