RIYADH: The Ministry of Labor and Social Development has launched a new electronic service for work regulations at private sector firms, which seeks to allow owners of firms to undertake their duties easily, according to a senior official at the ministry.
“Accordingly, employers can rely on this new electronic system instead of the paper-based service that was used previously,” said Dr. Fahad bin Abdullah Al-Owaidi, the ministry’s undersecretary for Inspections and Work Environments.
He said the new system would also facilitate the procedures required for new business owners to finalize all of their necessary procedures as quickly as possible so that they can enter the labor market sooner.
Additionally, this step will encourage investment in the Kingdom and will work toward achieving the Saudi Vision 2030 in a manner that will make the Saudi market attractive to foreign businessmen.
“This will also ensure the development of the national economy to increase job opportunities for Saudis,” he said.
“Through the service, private sector firms can propose additions or changes to the electronic model or form, but the System Verification Unit at the Inspection and Work Environment Department retains the right to study, approve, or reject the proposed additions,” he said.
“In the case of rejection, the proposed additions are returned to the beneficiary firm specifying the reasons for the rejection and the appointment of a time with the representatives of the firm for discussion,” he said.
