Police arrested 408 illegal workers including 15 wanted men in four districts of Riyadh over a three-day period starting Wednesday.
Acting on a directive from the Riyadh Gov, Prince Turki bin Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz law enforcement agencies nabbed the illegal workers in Manfouha, Deerah, Al-Malaqa and Al-Shifa.
Riyadh police arrested 208 illegal expatriates on the first day of the operations and 100 each on the two subsequent days. An official said that the majority of those arrested were Yemenis and Ethiopians.
The expatriates, mainly Umrah and Haj visa violators and runaway workers, were found at construction sites, abandoned buildings, public malls and along sidewalks.
In one instance, police had to break down the door of an apartment when the occupants refused to open it.
