NASHVILLE, Tennessee: A Saudi engineer taking up advanced studies in Tennessee has been awarded a medal of honor by the Phi Kappa Phi, one of the oldest academic organizations in the United States.
Samer bin Saeed Al-Qahtani, who finished his masters degree in the University of Tennessee, was also admitted as member of the Phi Kappa Phi and given a certificate of academic excellence for his distinction in the specialty of engineering and information systems. The organization was founded in 1897.
Al-Qahtani expressed appreciation for the honor accorded to him and promised to return to the Kingdom to apply what he learned during his scholarship studies.
