JEDDAH: The police have opened an investigation into the death of a 12-year-old girl in Al-Mavshniyah in west Qassim following her strangulation by a rope of a swing with which she was playing at the house of one of her relatives on Friday evening, said an online newspaper.
Maj. Badar Al-Sahibani, spokesman of Qassim police, said that Al-Nabhaniah police received information from a local hospital about the death of the child. Investigators were sent to the spot immediately.
He said that initial investigation showed abrasion marks around her neck following her strangulation with the rope swing. In yet another incident, an Asian resident in his 50s committed suicide on Friday, according to Al-Sahibani.
He said the police received a complaint about an Asian resident inflicting injuries on himself at his workplace. A team of specialists from east Buraidah police immediately rushed to the scene, but found the man dead.
He said the body of the Asian resident is at Buraidah Central Hospital for the necessary medical examination to determine the exact reason of his death. His papers have been handed over to the public prosecution department.
