RIYADH: The Saudi Blind Society (Kafif) has made all preparations for the three-day workshop for the blind to be held here next week and attended by delegates from various Asian countries.
Mohammed bin Suleiman Al-Shuwaiman, Kafif director general, thanked the King Khaled International Airport (KKIA) for displaying electronic boards welcoming Asian delegations to the workshop.
Kafif is a founding member of its counterpart Asian Blind Union, which organizes the workshop every year.
The Kafif director general said that the Saudi Blind Society does its best to make the event a success to serve the blind and visually-impaired and make life better for them.
Highly-skilled people in dealing with the blind will be deployed to help the participants on various matters, including print publications in Arabic as well as English.
Help will be extended to them starting from the aircraft until the immigration procedures are over and they’re handed over to the representatives of the assembly who will take them to the hotel where the workshop will be held.
Nasser Al-Mousa, board chairman of the Saudi Blind Society and a member of the Shoura Council, has directed everyone concerned that all efforts should be made to make the workshop a success.
The event will be sponsored by Social Affairs Minister Majid Al-Qassabi and hosted by the Saudi Blind Society in Riyadh.
