Riyadh hospital treats 8 injured from Asir

RIYADH: The Security Forces Hospital (SFH) in Riyadh received eight people injured in the terrorist attack at the Special Emergency Forces mosque in Asir that killed 15, including 11 officers on Thursday.
Dr. Khaled Al-Mutairi, hospital medical director, said that four cases were received Friday morning while the other four arrived Thursday night.
The bombing victims, who arrived by a Ministry of Interior plane on orders of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif needed treatment in a specialized medical center.
Dr. Saad Asiri, emergency medicine and trauma consultant and director of emergency hospitalization cases, received the patients who arrived in record time.
The patients were attended to immediately due to smooth and professional coordination between those in charge of emergency medical evacuation and the hospital which had contingency plans in place to deal with various events and casualties.
Al-Asiri said that the patients, including two in the intensive care unit for burns, were in stable condition, adding that the hospital provides advanced medical health care through its medical staff and who also have high morale.
The medical director lauded the follow-up, with the emphasis on providing diagnostic, therapeutic, psychological and social services to the bombing victims and their families.
The victims expressed their appreciation to the crown prince and hospital officials for the ongoing follow-up to their medical conditions.
In Abha, Saeed Abdullah Al-Naqir, directorate of health spokesman in Asir, added that 19 victims treated in emergency management have been released, adding that only five were still confined in hospital for tests and surgical intervention.
He added that they were in stable condition at the Asir Central Hospital.
