Prince Saud was a far-sighted diplomat, says Adel Al-Jubeir

RIYADH: Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir stated that as a far-sighted foreign minister, the late Prince Saud Al-Faisal had left an outstanding example and legacy to world diplomacy. Prince Saud spent four decades serving the Kingdom and the world with the utmost devotion and sincerity.
Paying a rich tribute to the world’s longest serving foreign minister (Oct. 13, 1975 to April 29, 2015), during the recent international conference organized by the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (KFCRIS), Al-Jubeir expressed his gratitude and pride at having worked under Prince Saud in the Foreign Ministry.
He emphasized how much he had benefited from the late foreign minister’s diplomatic skills, knowledge and talents. He stressed that Prince Saud had left a golden mark on the history of world diplomacy and foreign policy history.
He said further that Prince Saud had possessed a wide range of positive qualities including wisdom, generosity, devotion to his work as well as immense capabilities which enabled him to perform all sorts of political tasks.
Al-Jubeir also praised Prince Saud’s utter rejection of terrorism and extremism. He was a strong supporter of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, the achievement of Lebanese reconciliation and other vital regional and international issues.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa, deputy premier of Bahrain, also paid his glowing tributes to the far-sightedness of Prince Saud, saying that he would always be remembered for his indelible imprint on Gulf unity and international relations.
