A car went up in flames on the Dammam-Alkhobar highway on Sunday afternoon due a short circuit while in motion.

No one was injured in the incident.

The owner of the car said that the fire suddenly broke out after he heard a loud sound coming from the car.

He said, “I pulled over to see where the sound was coming from and fire broke out rapidly. I tried to extinguish the flames using my car extinguisher, but I wasn’t able to, so I called 998.”

“I was able to take all my papers from the car before it burned entirely,” he said.

Ammar Al-Maghrabi, Civil Defense spokesman in the Eastern Province, said that the Camry was totaled.
