Filipino expats in Jeddah will begin casting ballots at their mission beginning Tuesday. The absentee balloting was to take place in Jeddah today but was delayed due to technical reasons.

At other venues in the Kingdom, such as Riyadh, the voting will take place as scheduled today.

Philippine Consul General Uriel Norman R. Garibay told Arab News that the balloting period has been increased by an hour. “Instead of the session closing at 5 p.m., it will now go on until 6 p.m.” According to the consul general, 30,238 voters have registered themselves with the consulate in Jeddah. Garibay appealed to the Filipino community to participate in the voting process.
