The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has praised Pakistan, one of its founding members, for its strong support of the OIC.

Sohail Ali Khan, press counselor at the Pakistan Consulate General in Jeddah, said that the OIC reiterated its continued support to Pakistan on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistan Consul General Aftab Ahmad Khokher called on Ambassador Abdullah Al-Alim, assistant secretary general of the OIC and special representative of the OIC, on Jammu and Kashmir and thanked him for his personal interest in highlighting the issue of Jammu and Kashmir at an international level.

The consul general hoped that the OIC’s efforts would contribute to a peaceful settlement of the issue.

The two sides agreed to continue their collaboration on Jammu and Kashmir and other areas in the run up to the preliminary Senior Officials Meeting (SoM) in preparation for the Council of Foreign Ministers meeting to be held in November.

The consul general briefed him on the priorities of the Government of Pakistan, including its endeavors for socio-economic development of the country, as well as peace and security in the region and beyond.
