It was a day of fun and frolic for Pakistani expatriates in the capital on Friday, when the Pakistan Culture Group (PCG) organized a get-together in Riyadh under the patronage of their ambassador, Muhammed Naeem Khan.

Ambassador Khan, who joined a group of more than 500 of his countrymen with their families, said it was a good opportunity for people to meet. Besides, it provided a platform to discuss cultural and social issues of the community members.

Others who were spotted at the gathering included Khayyam Akbar, deputy chief of mission, and Syed Hammad Abid, community welfare attaché at the Embassy of Pakistan.

PCG is a social organization of Pakistanis in Riyadh. It is a non-political and non-profit making entity.

Its mission is to promote cultural activities for the benefit of Pakistani community in Riyadh by organizing events on special occasions and during days of national significance to Pakistan.

According to a spokesman from the PCG, the idea of holding such meetings is to promote friendly relationship between the brotherly countries of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

PCG functions under the auspices of the Pakistan Embassy. It is a group of 18 prominent Pakistanis from different walks of life such as doctors, engineers, bankers and businessmen, who voluntarily devote their time for the activities of PCG and its various events.
